He received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the prestigious University of Ibadan College of Medicine and went on to pursue an MSc in Anatomy with distinction at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, a Master’s in Health Economics at Bayero University Kano, Nigeria and a Master’s in Orthopedics and Trauma at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
Dr. Shobode’s career embodies not only breadth and depth of experience and knowledge but also an international component, including serving as a Registrar at Department of Surgery, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (Nigeria), Clinical Fellow at the Soundarapandian Bone and Joint Hospital and Research Institute (India), Clinical Fellow at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital (Taiwan), and Clinical Fellow at the Medicabil Hospital (Turkey).
His publications include Management of Acute Traumatic Spine Injury: The Dala Experience, and Outcome of Management of Tuberculous Spondylitis: A 5-year Review of 162 cases, with dissertations and articles awaiting publication focusing on Orthopedic Science, Degenerative Spine, Spine Deformity, and Spine Infection, Trauma and Tumors.
Despite a thriving career, Dr. Shobode still finds time to volunteer as a Lecturer at the Bayero University Department of Anatomy, serve as Director at non-governmental Organization Rebuilding Hope on Wheels Initiative, served as a Treasurer at the Nigeria Orthopedic Association, and serve as the Director at STENO Memorial Foundation, among other roles.
Dr. Shobode is also a member of several organizations, including the Nigerian Spine Society (NSS), the West African Spine and Scoliosis Society (WASSS), the North American Spine Society, the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN). The European Society of Sports Traumatology, the West African College of Surgeons the Medical College of Orthopedics, and AO Spine.
